Google’s mobile-friendly algorithm is on it`s way to land and I have already shared that Google Mobile ranking Factor runs on a page-by-page basis and in real-time already. But now we have seen that page speed signals for ranking are still based on the desktop version.

Google’s John Mueller has also said that there are many desktop signals they are using for mobile ranking like page speed. If you have a different site for mobile and it might have faster or slower speed than desktop version, still why Google use desktop signals for mobile ranking?

Gary said that Google is experimenting. They are breaking out factors on a mobile versus desktop basis. Sometimes it make sense when it comes to algorithms. But for Panda and Penguin it make less sense.
