ChatGPT API:
ChatGPT API is released with the name GPT-3.5-turbo. It will cost you $0.002 for 1000 tokens. It means that GOT-3.5 is going cheaper for developers.
Developers can use GPT-3.5-turbo to add non-chat-based features to their apps.
Traditional ChatGPT models are working on unstructured text, but GPT-3.5-turbo will use the sequence of tokens. This new format is known as Chat markup Language or (ChatML.)
ChatGPT Upgrades:
OpenAI is upgrading ChatGPT models day by day. New models are available for developers.
GPT-3.5-turbo users will always get a more stable model but can choose any specific version.
It is expected that GPT-3.5-turbo-0301 will launch in April and get updates by June 1st, 2023.
Developers can switch to the latest versions and find updates on the model’s page.
Dedicated Instances:
For developers interested in deeper control, OpenAI is offering dedicated instances.
By default, users are sharing shared infrastructure. But with dedicated instances, the user will pay for the time using compute infrastructures.
It will give full control over instance load and enable features like pin model snapshot and longer context limits.
Dedicated instances will become cost-effective if you can spend more than 450 million tokens in one day.
Whisper API:
OpenAI’s Whisper API has been available since September 2022. It is a text-to-speech tool. Now OpenAI Large-v2 model is also available through Whisper API.
Now Whisper API will cost $0.006/minute.
Whisper API is available through Translations or transcriptions. It accepts formats like webm, wav, mpga, mpeg, mp4, mp3, m4a, etc.

- 30-day data retention policy for API users.
