Paul Manwaring is a motivational blogger and Internet marketer based in UK.

Please share about yourself and your story to enter in blogging?

Hi My name is Paul Manwaring. I am a multi disciplinary marketer and designer.

I've been using WordPress for 7 years now. My first few websites were created because I wanted to create a community behind a genre of music as I noticed it did not have much presence on the web. From there I got into marketing and really enjoyed creating niche sites. I've dabbled in chasing the Google algorithm dance pre-panda with huge success (bringing in over 15,000 visits in one day for 1 site).

In the last few years I have concentrated on more evergreen marketing tactics such as email marketing, and content marketing. Post panda I decided to stop chasing Google and concentrated on being more service orientated. For clients I do website testing, conversion optimization and design. My marketing blog is an extension of this journey and I hope to make it a full time income in the next few years.

Through the blog I attract clients and also it's my portfolio. A client can view the design on the blog, the graphics i create for my posts as well as the quality of my writing.

Apart from that, I simply love to blog!

How the idea to make your own blog came in your mind? How you found the right people to develop it and what big obstacles you faced?

I created dubtechnoblog because there was nothing like it before. This is a small sub niche of music and there was a central blog for it. Now the blog is THE place to go to listen and read the laatest news and reviews.

I also host a weekly show which gets over 600 listeners every week.

Internetmarketinghustle was created because I wanted to document my journey into creating niche sites and making money online.

The big obstacles I face for IMH is building the blog into an authority blog. Constant, excellent content is needed and it can be difficult when you have to balance the rest of life. I'm still perfecting this balancing act. I hope that the quality of my content will take care of itself, meaning I won't have to do much in terms of SEO or link building because my content will naturally get shared.

Another obstacle is finding your niche. I know I have a marketing blog, but it's too broad. I need to concentrate on just a few topics. It's best to stick to your strengths and what really gives you a buzz when researching and writing.

As a blogger with limited resources I think this is the most important aspect of becoming successful. You need to concentrate on a few topics and get a marketing and content plan finalized before you just start randomly writing about topics.

Can blogging really change someone`s life?

Most definitely! I traveled Asia and paid for most of it from niche websites and adsense income. I think it's harder to do it in this day and age due to Google clamping down on low quality sites but still possible. If you work hard enough at it then it can definitely be life changing. Unfortunately for many bloggers it is not life changing. It quickly becomes another passing fad that they lose interest with. The ones who are successful are those who stick with it.

Blogging can also open many doors for people. I've gained lots of clients through Internet Marketing Hustle.

What are your favorite Internet marketing tools?

Tweetdeck - Its really good for managing multiple accounts and monitoring conversations within your niche

Adobe Creative Cloud - because the possibilities are endless if you know how to use the entire suite.

Wordpress - Where would we all be without wordpress? I love it and it has helped me create the website I run. Before wordpress you had to pay a developer $xxx to create something.

What is your daily schedule? and how do you maintain your tasks?

Wake up

Stretch and get my mind relaxed and focused.

I pick just ONE thing I want to complete today, I make sure its not a huge task and something that will take less than half a day. For instance it might be 'write 400 words of your article'.

I do that one thing and don't concentrate on anything else until it's done. I try to write 2 articles per week.

Once a day I go on tweetdeck and spend 20 minutes connecting with people.

Check email - I have this constantly on in the background as it's important to reply quickly to clients.

Work on projects for the rest of the day.

Evening time I post comments on 5 blogs.

Blogging have different definition for different person. What is it for you?

Blogging is about putting your own style and commentary on a subject. It should be personal and from your viewpoint. ou should try to be as personal and human as possible. It's also about connecting with people. Engaging with your visitors and responding to their questions. Of course you want to try and make money in the process. This is fine, if you are providing honest, valuable content then you should be rewarded for your effort. Ultimately I think blogging is about staying true to yourself. So if you have strong view about something, talk about it. Get your voice out there and ask people what they think. Don't sell out!

Which are your favorite blogs?

I's a bit hard to make this list 50 words so ill just list a few below.
  • Quicksprout
  • Moz
  • Marksdailyapple
  • Chriskresser
  • unbounce
  • conversionxl

How much time do you spend on social media promotion and SEO of your blog?

Social media I'm trying to spend 20-30 minutes per day, but the more I use twitter the more I like it. I starting to use it more which is a good thing because in connecting with more people..

SEO - most of my efforts go into creating content. I hope SEO will take care of itself in regards to link building. I hope to create content that people will naturally want to share.

To help get the ball rolling I email about 50-100 blogs every time I have something decent to show.
