The first 1-3 sentences are the most important as they need to grab attention and give users an understanding of what the application is about.

Most people won’t even try to read more.

Key elements are:

  • What it does, what problem does it solve;

  • User’s value (what is it for me?);

  • Most important functions;

  • Awards and mentions;

  • Updates and news.
You need to be clear, straightforward, and simple in your writing. Address what the product does and its value.

Do not include any misleading or vague information, as it will lead to disappointment in users and bad reviews.

Also, avoid any technical details; people are not interested in it. Speak directly to the person, from the user’s point of view.

3) Product’s functionality

It is better to include 3-5 features of the app, no more.

It is better to make a bullet list where each point starts with a new word (not best, best, best – it looks like spam).

The first two and the last one are the most crucial features.

The two in-between can be less essential as people usually read only the beginning and the last part of lists.

  • What does it do?

  • How does it solve the user’s problem?

  • What makes it unique?

  • What are the main features?

  • Why is it the best in the genre?

4) Screenshots

They should be of high-quality and show the actual gameplay/functionality.

Add short sentences on top of them if the picture is not self-explanatory.

Use verb and call-to-actions like “make notes in one click” or “collect powerful champions”.

5) Consider localization

It is beneficial to know how to write a great product description, but you also need to think globally.

The highest number of mobile application downloads by country shows that the USA is not on the top. It is China and India.

To make your product successful worldwide you need to localize it.
